We are excited to have orchestra offered to grades 4th - 12th under the direction of Joshua Bowman. Our orchestra practice throughout the year, perform at concerts, and participate in OMEA contests depending on their grade. Playing a stringed instrument is not only challenging and fun, it enriches your physical and mental well-being. At Revere we are proud to have the orchestra as one of our many music programs!
This class combines all the students in grades 9-12. We focus on advanced bowing techniques and works to include musicality in how we play. In addition to performing in our concerts, this class also competes in adjudicated events.
These classes are based on the grade level of each student. We continue developing our technique through more complicated fingerings, key signatures, and time signatures. During this time, we also introduce shifting as well as vibrato.
In this class, we finish building the foundations for our instruments. We expand our abilities by working on playing as a group, including playing melody and harmony parts. This class meets before school from 7:30-8:00 two days each week.
This is the very beginning! In this class we focus on learning how to hold our instruments, use the bow, and learn the notes of the D and A strings. This class meets before school from 7:30-8:00 two days each week. This class is available to 4th and 5th graders.
