Choir

The Revere Choirs include the A Cappella, Chorale, Symphonic Choir at the high school level. They also include the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade choirs at the middle school level. These choirs regularly perform concerts at the schools and in the community. The choirs also participate in OMEA events, depending on their grade. We are very proud of our choir programs at Revere. It is always a joy hearing the hard work they have put into practicing each day.

Revere A Cappella is a mixed contemporary a cappella ensemble open to students grades 9-12. A cappella, by definition, means voices only, or without instruments/accompaniment. Students will explore contemporary vocal technique through music of various genres (pop, indie, alternative, etc.), and how to manipulate the voice differently than they may in the traditional choral setting. Prerequisites for the ensemble include an audition with the director and preferably previous enrollment in Symphonic Choir and/or Chorale. This is not a beginner course, however, all are welcome and encouraged to audition!

The Revere High School Chorale is an advanced choral ensemble open to the more serious minded choral student grades 10-12. This is the most advanced and rigorous traditional choral ensemble offered at Revere High School. Voicing is dependent on student enrollment. Students must complete an audition with the director, and may join the course if approved. Students will work to expand on their basic choral technique, anatomical knowledge, and music theory/literacy skills. Music from a diverse palette of time periods, cultures, languages, and styles will be studied in preparation for performances and contests.

The Symphonic Choir is a mixed choral ensemble open to students grades 9-12 who possess a strong desire to develop or expand upon a foundation of basic choral technique, anatomical knowledge, and music theory/literacy skills. Music from a diverse palette of time periods, cultures, languages, and styles will be studied in preparation for performances and contests. There are no prerequisite requirements or required auditions for this course.

The Revere Middle School choral offerings include 6th, 7th, and 8th grade choirs! 6th and 7th grade choirs are under the direction of Mr. Michael Wiley. The 8th grade choir is under the direction of Ms. Sierra Pabon. These ensembles are intentional building blocks that prepare students for the high school choral experience! There are no prerequisite requirements or required auditions for these courses.
